I came here too after DS went down..it's a shame since it had a rather large archive to look through. I have been a member there since 2005 under different aliases. I recognize the story's about the way Geno ruled the board in a peculiar way, and used his privileges against users including me. I got banned around 2010 after a rather silly discussion about satin panties or something and I just let it be, but later I came back under a different name but it just wasn't the same anymore. I just hope he is doing better, and can pop in here some day :approve:

Dave PM'ed me on PKF's board and asked me to pass these along for you. Hey wrote that they include a sizeable portion of clips he collected from the DS thread:

I've heard nothing from Geno, though he usually contacts me when he's needing advice. Looks like the DS site's being used to sell unrelated merchandise. Maybe someone bought the domain name to take advantage of the DS traffic.

I've obviously stopped looking for it, but a few times when I did check it out, my antivirus reported finding a Trojan... which hadn't happened before and hasn't happened since. Anyone confirm if Geno's OK?

I’ve still not heard anything and even with good intentions someone trying to discover more would be intruding on privacy where he obviously didn’t want an intrusion.

I’ve been around long enough to know some other old timers that if anything happens to us we can pass the word so there won’t be a mystery (not that anyone gives a flip for most of us haha). But some never get that comfort with anyone or for whatever reason don’t want to.

I have no information on Gino's Deadskirts board but today (May 2022) others may have and arguably I have missed the new information. I was a long-time lurker and now and then created a throwaway public name.

I loved the stories section and the occasional clip someone might post. I deeply appreciated the deep knowledge people had because of long involvement in the snuff fantasy. Perhaps a long article would be written sometime to articulate the history from early Necrobabes and 'Vicki' to where we may be today; perhaps it has been written?

One of my careers before retirement was as a (PhD) clinical psychologist. I always find fetishes to be fascinating, and the ways in which guilt and shame play into the held secrets of less well-known fantasies.

What I found consistently repelling (from more participation in Deadskirts) was Gino's lack of grace. As a person, not very educated and incredibly unkind, by the way he put people down, took offense easily, attacked just as easily, made almost constant very right wing political comments, and created a very unsafe environment. He reminded me of what we now see in Putin or Trump, vengeful and lacking any sense of self-awareness.

Deadskirts was an oasis, as is FF, for people to express, discuss, create, and feel some support for one of many less understood (by the general community) fetish or fantasy interests.

Tom, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Geno died some while ago and Deadskirts closed down as a result.

Yes he could be blunt at times but when you got to know him a bit better he was a very worthwhile guy.

Yes, I always found Geno a great bloke. Started some great fights and conflicts on his board as well over the years.
Such a shame though what happened to him, when he fell really ill a couple of years ago I actually helped him out for a bit, on the premise that he would send me all the info and server details of the board so that myself (or someboedy else) could take it over and keep it going if he ever became indisposed. Sadly he died (nobody seems to know quite when as his body was not found for some time) before he could send me the details, so as a result the server provider took the site down as even though there were people willing to carry on with the lease on the domain and the space, without the passwords and ID details it was impossible to do.

Thanks for the update re Deadskirts. Like most people I tend to be conflict-avoidant, and thus like many others, moved away from DS because of the way it was ‘moderated.’ I understand how challenging it can be to run a dedicated, focus-oriented, speciality board, and how important are rules and discipline, but I continue to believe that such a board can be handled with grace, joy, dignity, and an allowance that people can disagree in an agreeable fashion.

I remember also having a distaste for the style of moderation over there, but I too still lament it’s closure as it was one of my earlier entryways into the community. There are a couple of stories that were posted there I would love to read again, but alas as far as I know they are now lost to the nether realm of the internet, never to be enjoyed again…

Yeah I know where you are coming from, TaliaA
I wrote one for China Girl (anyone else remember her?) back in around 2006-ish when DS was still a comparatively new site, now that is gone for good... :-(

There has not been a lot of research into the sub-genres of what ‘turns someone on.’ The general assumption is that a woman is drawn by a penis, and a man drawn by breast or vagina. It’s deeper than that most of the time — people are more drawn by being wanted.

The issue for most of us becomes what does it mean to be wanted? To be loved is simplistic. Loved how? Loved how often?

How do any of us express our desires to be loved in the context of a fantasy death play? Academia has not looked at how alternative (to straightforward penis / breast / vagina) vectors to sexual excitement develop; researchers know they exist and can catalogue these ways towards mental sexual stimulation, but not how in one or another individual they work themselves into ‘need.’

The adolescent sees a death scene on television and finds it sexually exciting; she/he wants to be ‘in’ the scene, as victim or victor, and so a vector to sexual stimulation is added to the memory.

Will that person be able to share this with a sexual partner? Maybe, some of the time, but here we get into psychological defenses, often unconscious, that protect the ego from attack. No one wants to hear ‘you are not normal,’ though with some maturity, one might wonder how normal is the one who says ‘you are not normal,’ because everyone has some bit of abnormality mixed with some point (on the continuum) of negative self-valuation.

Maybe the partner is willing to play act a part because they have a commitment to ‘you’ and understand that play acting a part (victim, victor) in a scene (hitman, Amazon, bar pickup, etc) helps you, as their partner, achieve something extra in sexual contact. Some pro snuff actors (male and female) are into all of this, and some are just acting, a paid gig. Do we care? Not particularly if we are watching, but if we fantasize we are in a relationship with (Genetica, Lexxi, Savannah, Belle Fatale, Ryanne, etc) then we do care, though we will ‘accept’ a play acting partner who is not really ‘into’ it because by and large that is the best we can achieve with ‘another.’

The role Deadskirts, this board, other boards were able to play, was to vent some of the steam inside people into ‘all of this’ into public. But think about it — everyone, or 99% of the people here, are hiding — behind nicknames. In most cases there is little awareness of whether the person who posts is male or female. We are tentatively putting a toe into the lake and rarely get past that point. When what would be so helpful is honest, forthright, open communication about who we are, how we came to be who we are, and the struggles around expressing desires (now, in most cases, burned in to your psyches) about ‘all of this stuff.’

It’s like grief. People who hold it in will continue the grief indefinitely. People who talk and talk and talk about their feelings and thoughts re the grief will work through it. There is a transformative power in being really known by others, because when we are known, we are (most of the time) also being accepted.
