A PRIMER FOR SNUFF ACTRESSES (AND PRODUCERS),
in response to having recently bought some really, really bad
strangulation videos.

Making a realistic strangling scene isn't all that hard if you follow
a few simple dos and don'ts.

Do have you have your mouth open - wide! Remember, you are
trying to breathe.

Do look frightened. Do not look bored.

Do have your tongue out a bit as if you are gagging - not as if you're
trying to lick fried chicken grease off the corner of your mouth.

Do make faint squeaks and gurgling noises. Do not cry out. Do
not talk. Remember YOU CAN'T BREATHE!

Ahhh, but remember fantasy strangling is just that, a fantasy. So imitating a strangling on film can be done many ways as long as it’s not unconvincing. There are a few things that need to be coincided. One of the directors we work with insists that we only work with good looking actresses with great tone bodies, this adds to the turn on factor. We saw one strangling video where the woman who was getting strangled had a horrible face rash (might have been bad acne) and they tried to cover her face with her hair LOL! Do not underestimate fantasy strangling with the actress dress in a sexy dress or suit, more and more people prefer this than naked victims with tats on their bodies and studs all over their faces. Also what is significant to people who are into fantasy strangling is showing as much of the neck as possible and with a great performance from the actress you can’t go wrong :-)

Well, I can’t speak for everyone and can only tell you what our clients don’t like. They don’t like bruise marks around the neck on the face or body, blood and rape are a no, no in the videos they pay for. So it really depends on what sells for your company. Most of our clients are well into there 40s & 50s so I guess they remember the tame stuff on 70s TV such as, Charlie’s Angels, Wonder Woman and others. Those were innocent times and no matter how many fights and hits the TV heroines took there were very little blood and bruise marks and in most cases none.

what about bruises around the neck after the strangle scene?
is it an added plus to see slight bruise marks around the neck or is it a turnoff to see a pretty girl bruised and dead?

Depends on the viewer. I just completed a couple of drawings for an old fan of mine who has been after me to do more " snuff stuff " After watching the CSI series of shows on TV, I have learned much more about details "after death". ( smaller version of one of them posted below)
I don't mind the bruise around the neck, it is truthful and an indicator of what happened to the victim, if the murder weapon has been removed.

My pet peeves for producers are:

Nudity - Give us a good reason why she should be naked, walking around your set ( other than you can't afford the clothing ) In my past, I roleplayed with several ladies, in fantasy death scenes, and often "got rough", I can't remember a time when we damaged clothing, if it wasn't called for in the scene. I don't mind the victim being stripped afterward, or having her clothes ripped off during the scene, just not in the first 30 seconds of the scene.
-on a related note, a tee shirt and shorts is not "normal" work wear in a office, and no company I have ever worked for has secretaries dressed like street hookers with bare bellies.

Tats and body metal - unless someone's fantasy is doing Kat vonD, excessive tats are NOT attractive...I know "tramp stamps" are in, and girls with tats probably work cheaper
(and could be fine if you cover them up with clothing - see above) but if I wanted to see body art, I'll watch "LA Ink"
Body piercings - I saw a preview of a strangling that was a close up of a girl with two rings in her eyebrow, ,numerous junk in her ears studs in her nose, chin and cheek, clicking her tongue stud on her teeth while the tip of her tongue tried to reach her ear - not exciting!

I just listened to your sound byte, and I have to say, it didn't do anything for me, it sounded more like a deep throat tape, with the rhythmic sound in the background and more male noise than female. UKSG girls do a much better job in sounding their demise, their captors can string them along, giving them just enough air to keep them conscious, but not enough to help them escape their attacker.

i gyuess the only way to know for sure is to make 2 videos. one with the bruises and one without.... then let the sales dictate how we proceed from there.

Yep, for fetish strangles I would not have it any other way. Interestingly enough, models who do breath play--for them, that is the opposite of what happens, which is usually the gritting of teeth and twisting of lips--not very sexy. :-)

Yes, cannot stand the "crazy tongue", however you would be surprised how often it is requested. I prefer tongue out just over teeth or balanced between lips, though non all the time.

Actually, that is spot on. Someone being strangled would be noiseless. In fact, the first six month or so I did them just like that, but got too many complaints. The fantasy view is that there is some type of noise (obviously nothing vocal sounding).

In fact, the fantasy view differs tremendously from reality--which is good I think.

When a girl went out on set some years back, time to blackout was 2-3 seconds, no time to open mouth and stick tongue out, no noise.

Interesting. I suspect everyone will have different thoughts about this. What is convincing to some may be boring to others. Some want complete, overblown fantasy. Some want what they perceive as realism. Ultimately, it is what does it for them. We make these long unrealistic strangles often for the purposes of watching the model move and look different ways--legs, feet, toes, soles, chest, mouth, neck...for everyone it will be different, for some the "sounds" are the most important part, for other it is the "crazy tongue", and for many, it is the complete package.

Your points are great, but there are bound to be variations that come down to each viewing being a subjective experience. As a producer, I must cater to more then just one view, but try to keep them consitent in regards to keeping things I dislike out of them: weak start, weak fighting, breathing.

There are some things that are constant, each individual person knows crap when they see it. :-)

By all means Algenon5 do what you think is right. In our experience polls don't work because there are so many opinions on how things should be done and why things don't work that you end up chasing your own tail.

In the end the answer is you learn the knowledge of film making, stuff like knowing not to cross the line between cuts, when to use close-ups, mid-shots, big close-ups, and wide shots. Then using them to express a mood and to generate an emotion from the viewer. Learning the basics of lighting, directing actors, how to edit and grade the final film.

You don't have to go to film school to learn all of the above - learn by watching movies, Google the internet and get the basic knowledge of film making then shoot, and keep shooting till you get it right!

Watch professional sequences, such as strangling segments from movies like Frenzy, Don't Answer the Phone, Body Double, etc, etc. Ask yourself why does these scenes work so well and what part of the sequence is a turn on for you? Imitate what you see and once you understand why they work then you can create a really good sequence.

As a film maker what would you like to see in a fantasy strangling video? This is an important question for the film maker.

When George Lucas wrote and shot Star Wars he did it because he wanted to see this kind of movie.

UKSG make films for their clients but it was the founding member who is into the fantasy strangling fetish that shot the first one. He wanted to make something he wanted to see and it was made with care. Others saw it and the rest is history.

In conclusion just shoot what you'll like to see and make it well. You can bet you bottom dollar that there are thousands of people out there who are into the same thing as you and that will become your paying audience.

WOW...great thread!!!! In my fantasies I wonder to strangle Dana Scully (Gllian Anderson) or Ally Macbeal ( Calista Flockhart)...and others characters females\actresses by diferent strangling methods.

I prefer LONG stranglings ( about 5 minutes more and less) and tied victims. I don't mind about clothes victims...but I like victims wearin' black pants ( leather or jeans), mini skirts, shirts (blue or white)... t shirts and bikinis...yeah!!!

I like to see women wearin' panties and shirts....is very sexy IMO. I have the fantasy to strangling Ally Macbeal ( Calista Flockheart ) when she wearin' mini skirts or paints and a shirt...I'd tied her, fondle her incredible and hot legs before to start to strangle her with a nylon stocking or...a blue ribbon!!!

hand strangulation is a classic method and touch a female neck is very exciting. But garroting stranglings by ribbons, scarfs, thin cords and nylon or satin stockings are very cool for strangle females. Ropes is more usual in hangings scenes...and wires would be slicing her necks and would be very bloody. IMO a good strangler of women follow a sacred rule: NO BLOOD. Despite this...piano wires could be intersting in some strangling scenes.

Would you like the victim wearing a sexy dress, suit or Nude?

I prefer clothed victim

Would you want rape and hard core porn in the video?

Depend...I'd like to see Dana Scully being raped before she is strangled
