"Outlaw Women" (1952) is about a western town run by women, one of the foremost is Iron Mae McLeod (Mary Windsor) who runs a saloon staffed with comely dance hall girls. Mae and her girls, plus a few male allies, are in a gunfight holding off a gang of evildoers, who want the money that’s stashed in the safe in the room above the saloon (don’t ask me how it got there). With the gunfight as a distraction, three of the gang sneak upstairs and blow the safe open Two of the girls below here they go upstairs to investigate. As soon as they open the door one of the girls is shot in the stomach. The three are overcome by two men from downstairs. We finally see Mae with the dead girl in her arms.

Amazing! Marie Windsor is one of my favorite femme fatales! She co-starred in one of my fave film noirs, THE NARROW MARGIN. (Yes, she died in that one.)Ric delCampo wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 12:52 am Surprise, surprise! Marie Windsor was in a shoot 'em up movie and she didn't get killed!
