Sound of music or not in the death fetish movies

Post by Totallibertarianism »

It is a question I'm also asking myself. When I play video games sometimes I turn off the music sound, I just keep the sounds of the environment and the natural sounds, the immersion then become huge and better than keeping the music sounds.

I think doing sometimes the same thing in the death fetish movies, like turning off the music sounds just when the fighting sequence happen until the death ending has its interest. Hearing just the sounds of the fighting in a realistic way, the screaming, the moaning, the beating and the strangling, the sounds of firing weapons, the sounds of the sword slicing etc... Without the music sound.

What do you think about it ? What is your view on this and your wanted taste ?

What is your main fetish?: So many options, all good... strong preference for the subject to be at least topless.

I prefer the sounds of the female at the focus of the act. Sound is an overlooked part of the presentation, and not every sound she makes may be loud... I'd prefer nothing get drowned out. This is especially the case where the guy interacting with her is making noise, laughing, etc. and making more noise than she is. Shut up, dude! Just my $0.02.

Interesting topic!

One of the reasons the climatic fight scene in CLEOPATRA JONES AND THE CASINO OF GOLD is probably my all-time favorite is the use of music. It's a fast-tempo "Ride of the Valkyries" -type orchestration that increases the excitement of the brutal F vs. F fight. As the fighters trash the place, sound effects come over the music with an occasional kick, fist punch and "Oof" uttered by the recipient. Finally, a sword comes into play and the music crescendos. letting you know something is about to happen. It does, as the heroine plunges the sword into the villainess' guts and the MUSIC STOPS.... followed by the victim's long, ungodly groan as she topples back into the sunken bath with the sound of a huge splash! There's no better use of music/sound in the movies, IMO.

What is your main fetish?: FANTASY of slow, painful death. Strangling, stabbing, electro-shock -- as long as the object of my fantasy suffers, it's all good.

I hate it when sounds drown out the actress. I want to hear HER! Any music should be completely in the background.

I don’t use music unless the scenario calls for it. I prefer a tone that’s closer to the real world.

I don't like music in death fetish movies. Even if it is well done, I often find it distracting. And often it is not well done. When the music has a different feel than the scene (or perhaps what I would like to project onto the scene), it is just very distracting.

I am surprised to see that the majority of respondents so far seems to come down against music. It seems that many of the high end producers like to use music in their videos.

My preference for this, I'm not fully against music in the death fetish movies but only when the actions and the scenarios become the most interesting and exciting like during the fighting sequences or the killing/raping sequences, I want to turn off the music specifically in these sequences, but in overall I like hearing music in the beginning of the movie at the presentation and in the middle of the sequence when the plot and the suspense begin.

100 % no music I'm not for.

:lol2: I agree that the music should FIT the scene.

This reminds me of an old '70s one-day-wonder porno called HITLER'S HARLOT. Undoubtedly the WORST music selection I've ever seen. It seems they dubbed an easy listening radio station for the soundtrack. A horrible match for the action. :D

I'm fairly skilled at video editing, so I always ask the producer to have no music during the killing scene, and primarily because I can add whatever sound/music track to the scene myself. But at base, I always want the natural sound of the killing without any additional sound tracks. I will add whatever I feel is needed. And very often, I add nothing at all. 😁😁😁

It makes sense for the more high-end producers to more frequently use music because they're trying to be more cinematic. Not something I'm necessarily a fan of in my customs, but I agree appropriate music will benefit a scenario.

Jimbo, thanks! I downloaded that clip again and listened to the handling of the music as you pointed out. I totally agree that stopping the music for her final, anguished cry was great!
