Not having it isn't a deal-breaker for me like it is for some, but I can certainly appreciate the appeal as it allows for a lengthy losing struggle prior to the eventual execution. When it's followed by the heroine waking to being strangled, it's the cherry on top!

Megan Lee returns as Teen Bat and is attacked by two bruisers who are intent on framing the Red Ribbon Strangler for their beating and strangling of her! In their initial attack, they manage to overpower her, hold her down on the bed, and try to strangle her to death with a red ribbon. Eventually, Teen Bat decides to play possum and frees herself when they ease up on their hold on her. Then, she strikes back, eventually knocking one of them down and snapping the other's neck. The surviving bruiser, however, breaks her in a bearhug. He then chloroforms her into unconsciousness and prepares to finish her. When she recovers consciousness, he unmasks her, then strangles her to death in a long, sexy strangle. Her body is carried away by her killer in a cradle carry. In the Peril version, the sudden appearance of the Red Ribbon Strangler allows her to survives, but he knocks her out and carries her away over his shoulder. Lots of action in this one!

This was very nice! I loved the start with her finishing donning her costume and the fact that she was totally ambushed as she left the bathroom. The inner voice element is always one of my favorites, and her success at playing possum gave her hope that was quickly snatched away and once she was firmly in the bear hug, she was finished... it was only a matter of how long she would last.

The chloroform and immediate strangle felt almost like a homage to Mia Ford's TeenBat 6 but without the sexual arousal, making it unique. Her inner voice complaining, "I'm the heroine, I'm supposed to win" just before she ended was delicious! I love the touch of the "proof of death" photos, and I always like when the killer closes the victim's eyes, as it's an intimate gesture that reinforces his dominance and her loss. My one critique is that given her "possum" attempt earlier, a postmortem pulse check and/or neck snap should probably have been in order, but that's nit-picking.

Story line suggestion: It's been suggested that TeenBat is a sisterhood rather than a single heroine, so it would be interesting to have it develop that the sisterhood is, itself, made up of sets of identical twins or triplets who banded together. This opens the door to dialogue about avenging a murdered sister, and the villain vowing to send her to join her sister, etc.
