Strangling a couple of colleagues or close friends to taunt Janet would both stretch out the series

and make D.I. Janet's eventual death and (hopefully) humiliating topless pose all the more gratifying for us.

Well, now to relate my response to everyone here...

So, what Director B didn't tell you is what I didn't tell him. There will be more killings by Yvonne's killer character, plus since she is not the 'Curious Detective' character, there will also be a christening of her by the newspapers as fear rises in the city over two serial killers apparently operating individually. Let me know what you think we should call Yvonne's character.
