What is YOUR contribution and why?

Post by Bluestone »

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I thought I'd pose an open question for all those reading this post. Here goes:

What is YOUR contribution to this community, and why do you contribute?

Now, this is aimed at everyone... producers, customers, lurkers, everyone!

Let me be the first to share. Way back on Fatal Females, the precursor to Femmegore, I became a lurker like all of us in this genre were, and maybe still are. When Femmegore debuted, I contributed some stories to the story forum, and that was somewhat satisfying, because I could finally share the fantasies that I had in my brain for years. That did not fully satisfy me though. So, I played around with a website, but it was very derivative. When I asked G-Man to take a look at it, he basically said that I was just re-hashing what others had done, and he challenged me by simply asking the question: "What unique contribution can you make to this community?" Well, those who know me realize that I love a good challenge.

About that time, there were discussions on Femmegore as to which TV show had the most sexy death scenes... Mike Hammer (starring Stacey Keech) or Silk Stalkings? Well, Silk Stalkings sounded like a winner, so I sought out copies of SS episodes and invested $100 in pre-DVD copies. My thoughts were to make clips and review them similar to what G-Man was doing on FG. So, armed with the best freebie video editor that I could find... Virtual Dub... I made my first Volume of The Silk Stalkings Review! Was I out to make a fortune? Is that why I did it? No, I wanted to contribute something unique, and I reasoned that if I could recover my $100 investment, I could purchase some more episodes and do a second volume. Well, five volumes later, I was still able to break even, but I had run out of episodes to review.

It was a natural progression to create what I termed "The Scenes You Wished You'd Seen on Silk Stalkings!" Yes, I became a producer! Again, why did I become a producer? Was it to make a potful of money. No! It was to create scenes that I'd love to have seen myself on SS. I continued to reason that, if I could make enough to cover the costs, it was a win-win situation both for me and for my customers. Apparently, my reasoning was correct, because here I am today over 100 videos later still having fun and producing videos that are well-received by a loyal customer base.

Now, your contributions may be more or less, but, in the grand scheme of things, all contributions enrich this community. So, I'd like to hear from others, as to what you contribute to this community and why, no matter what type of contribution you are making, including that of:

1. A fellow producer;
2. A writer;
3. An artist;
4. A paysite or freesite operator;
5. A reviewer;
6. A customer who supports producers such as me;
7. A contributor to this forum;
8. A purchaser of custom videos;
9. An actress in this genre; or even
10. A lurker, whose contributions will be in the future, but are presently in the planning stages :wink:

Let us share as a way of acknowledging that everyone here is an important part of this wonderful and understanding community!

I got my stat as a contributor shortly after NB opened. I wrote a number of stories, some of which are still posted at the NB messageboard and on Femmes Obscure.

Not too long after that, I worked with Peter and HfM and a few others to establish the NB Writers Guild. I wrote captions for photostories on the various NB sites.

After videos started showing up in downloadable form, I started writing scripts for movies and have seen well over 100 of my scripts produced.

I'm mostly in the background, but have been a steady contributor since about 95 or 96. Time slips away. I think I'm one of the few who have been around the community pretty much from the start.

Why do I do it? I guess it's because it's fun and an opportunity to be "around" people a bit like myself. I like seeing the end result of my ideas and interacting with the people that work with me to pull them off. It's also a way to thumb my nose at a society that has a lot of hangups about nudity.

I guess I wanted to share my collection with like minded people! Trade clips and pics ike baseball cards!

I started about 8 or 9 years ago, opening several groups on Yahoo, xxx and others to share my photos and vidcaps! They stayed up for a while, but were ultimately all shut dow, or closed!

I took a break for about 6 months and then cam back with sharing my video clips and photos on Mediafire. I also started cutting together compilations of various scenes.

Now I have put up several thousand clips, thousands of pics and a little over 300 compilations. A few months ago I opened my site http://www.cinedeath.com

I think this question can best be answered by providing some of my own personal history, especially since I haven't introduced myself to this forum except for what was included in one post in another thread.

When I was in my late teens (a long, long time ago, lol) my best friend and I frequented movies at the local art theater. We both had an interest in filmmaking and both read much of the available material of that era on filmmarking and movies in general. One of my pipe dreams was to make my own movie expressing my "views about life" with at least one sequence in the movie including one of my fantasies. A few years later, we decided to make our own 10-minute movie and enter it in a film festival. We had already made a not-so-great documentary and entered it in a film festival. (I also helped a girlfriend make a movie for a high school project.) We both intensified our studies of filmmaking books and eventually began working on an 8 mm movie with a musical soundtrack to play alongside the film by synchronizing a reel-to-reel recorder with the movie. I wrote the screenplay, played the main character, did all the editing (working until sunrise over a period of two weeks, splicing pieces of 8mm film together and cutting others out), and paid the production costs. I wanted a stabbing scene as the necro element in the movie; my buddy and the actress playing the victim preferred a strangulation scene. A surprisingly well-done, quick strangulation scene was the result. My partners were right: a strangulation scene was more appropriate to the movie. The movie won a second place in the film festival. When I picked up the film cannister from the university sponsoring the festival, the chairman of the university's communications department had a lengthy conversation with me regarding the details of who did what in the making of the film. He told me the movie revealed considerable talent on my part, that I should strongly consider a degree in communications and pursue a career in filmmaking. He expressed disappointment when I explained I had chosen a totally unrelated major for my upcoming college studies. I had decided the film industry is too competitive, it's "who you know, not what you know" that determines your success, movies are a team effort with a chain-of-command, and I would never be able to express my own fantasies and viewpoints in such overly collaborative projects. I was still interested enough in the subject to take an elective course on filmmaking theory while in college. However, I didn't pursue a career in anything entertainment-related.

I frequently went to the theaters in the 1970s and 1980s, hoping to see movies with necro elements; I saw a play that contained a brief necro elememt, and went to other plays, hoping to see more, lol.

Flashing forward many more years, soon after the advent of the Beta VCR, I began renting stacks of movies and scanning them for necro elements. I dubbed scenes on another VCR. I re-edited many of them to my own taste, for instance by making one gunshot many gunshots through repeating the same scene, interspersed with freeze-frames and slow-motion effects. I didn't log any titles, actresses, directors, etc., believing everyone would consider such a hobby depraved. No one else saw these videos, nor did anyone know about this interest. I spent many hours over the years indulging in this private hobby. I dscarded these tapes when I moved in 1998.

Later in 1998, I found the websites devoted to this material, finally discovering I wasn't alone in this interest. I've been a member of most of the paysites at some point or another between 1998 and now. As I found more and more independent productions catering to this interest, I became progressively less interested in clips from mainstream features and more interested in independent productions.

I'm shy and tend to avoid speaking in public, so I seldom post to forums (except for a spurt circa 2004 when more time was available and when I posted prolifically in a forum on the KHP site, mostly reviews, critiques, and commendations of Paul's work). I've been lurking on-and-off in G-Man's forum from the beginning, always feeling it to be the definitive forum for this genre. I've always felt my main contribution to these communities is by paying membership dues and/or purchasing PPVs. As I grow older, I find my interest waning in the genre in general and more focused on my specific fantasies. It seems to me that mainstream scenes are so far removed from what the writer of the scene originally envisioned. that many of them could be considered mere "teasers." Currently, in this recessionary environment and with a failed early retirement, I usually purchase only independent PPV's with the most promise of more closely depicting my fantasies. I have never been able to afford customs since my discovering their availability. (Even for independent productions with the smallest of crews, I'm sure that the final product isn't always quite what was oringinally envisioned, lol.)

With my past experience in studying movies, producing three short films, some behind-the-camera experience (I worked for a small company as a camerman and edited videotapes for their product for a while), and a modicum of education in filmmaking, I feel I know enough about the subject to write knowledgeable reviews (whcih are still, of course, considerably subjective, lol). From my modest experience in this field, I know how much hard work is involved in producing videos and don't expect perfection .

I hope to periodically contribute to this community with an occasional review of a video when time allows. I'll soon be posting at least one review in the Review Forum.

I not much for words, or at least they don't always flow smoothly, so I will keep this short.

I have been a fetishist since my early 20's, but I am sure it is rooted much farther back. Sometime in 1996, I discovered WAVE when looking for movies that appealed to me and from there, sought out satisfaction on the web. That lead me to Necrobabes in 1997 and soon as a contributor. From there, Ruemorgue was created....a partnership between myself and Hank Samuels. Shortly after, we helped launch the first downloadable video site for this content and the rest is history. In 2006, I left Ruemogue and started my own company. My goal was this. To provide fetish movies that had a movie -like feel.

Any, here I am still.

So, my contribution to the community is mainly as a producer. Secondly, it is that of a fetishist and as such, I support this community strongly in any way that I can.

Thanks,
JohnM

Short version of a very long story...

Developed my fetish at age 10, after finding a drawing of a rape/asphyx scene in the Sex and Violence chapter of an encylopedia on Human Sexuality my parents bought to use as a guide to help teach my brother and I about sex. The more I stared at the drawing, the more aroused I became by the concept. Eventually, I started masturbating to it.

1997 - Found Necrobabes and joined their asphyx site.

1999 - Started editing asphyx scenes in mainstream movies and TV shows and launched my own site through which to share my clips, free of charge. Sadly, financial circumstances forced its closure in 2002. By 2004, bandwidth was a lot more affordable, so I re-launched the site. Two years later, every clip I had ever featured was finally online, and I've been adding to it ever since.

2006 - Discovered the world of 3D modeling when a new company, DAZ Studio, released the first version of a new 3D modeling program called DAZ 3D. I noodled around with it for the next couple of years, trying to learn the lingo and come to grips with its learning curve.

2008 - Began pondering the idea of starting my own production company. Suffice it to say, it'll never happen. Just too expensive.

2009 - After realizing I'll never be able to shoot my own videos, and have too many ideas that would never work in the real world anyway, I got serious about 3D modeling and have made great strides toward becoming an artist in my own right. I'm now finally creating my own material in a virtual environment, and will soon be providing the community with new, original content.

And that's where I am today...

Wow what a subject. Another great topic from Blue.

I first became involved in the community in late 97 or early 98 (can't remember :?: ). First, I provided Vicki, the NB, with some art nude photos of reclining females, one of which was on the NB Banner for years. Then, Vicki asked me to shoot a few photosets, which I did. They turned out better (more realistic) than I had imagined and I was afraid to take them to my regular lab that did work for my studio, so Vicki put me in touch with John who got them processed. First I, and then John and I produced several more photosets for NB. John was all about doing videos and so we got together and shot our first one with Roxxie in Seattle -Roxxie's Nightmares. It proved to be successful and we just kept on shooting. We have both been about continuing to try and improve our production values with such exotic things as good light, better and better actresses, real story lines, and better sound tracks. I think that we have contributed something to the community in that way.

But, like "Life its own self", you often get more out of a labour than you contribute. What the community has done for me is make me realize that I'm not alone with my wierd fantasies which have been with me since about age 10. And, it's given me a lot of lessons in human psychology and finally revealed that the counterparts of the fantasy exist in females. Yeaaaaa. Finally, it's given me challenges to try and produce some SFx that gave me some mental exercises trying to figure them out.

Well, I suppose that's about it. So, I plan to just keep on contributing, hopefully some original and creative stuff for the rest of the community that has supported my efforts to enjoy.

What is your main fetish?: My personal fetish is 'bellybutts', the idea of a woman who for her own pleasure, to sate her own lust and fetish, wants to be stabbed or shot in her belly, ideally during sex. She begs for it incessantly, encourages it to happen and then when the moment finally comes, enjoys it thoroughly and begs for more.
Why do you want to join this forum?: My interest in this community has less to do with my personal fetish than it does professionally from a community building standpoint.

I am primarily known nowadays as a video producer, producing under the name Catharsis, but my involvement with this community virtually predates the Web. I started out on line back in 1994/95 by posting stories to the Usenet newsgroups. The stories proved popular and generated a lot of Emails. However posts to the Usenet do not last long, within weeks disappearing. I got tired of the constant deluge of requests to repost old stories and finally put together a web site to host them permanently. Mine was the first of the web sites to be originally hosted by Blackplague back in 1996.

I had dabbled with drawing for a little while, actually discovering that I have a bit of talent for it, but it took me twenty times as long as it took a pro to get similar results and never practiced it enough to really get 'good' at it. But the bit of fetish art I did create got scanned and included on that first web site. Thus was born; 'Peter's Art and Stories'. Within a couple of weeks, several other similar web sites launched on Blackplague, notably Vicki's 'Necrobabe Homepage' where a great many video captures from TV and movies were shared. All was good, and everyone linked to one another in a marvelously incestuous relationship.

Myriel & Anna
Image

But the day came when the two sites that consumed the most bandwidth on Blackplague finally got billed for that bandwidth. Both Vicky and myself received bills for several hundred dollars a month to cover the cost of our free web sites. Immediately Vicki and I were on the phone together to figure out what we could do. Obviously neither of us were prepared to spend several hundred dollars per month to maintain free web sites. We figured we could choose between one of three options. We could take down our sites; which we did not wish to do as were were by then the nexus of a small but rapidly growing community that we much cared for. We could instead charge a membership fee for our web sites; which we also did not want to do because those sites were already free, and putting them behind a membership screen would risk harming the community that was burgeoning. Lastly we could open a brand new site, make that one a membership site, charge a fee for access to that site and hopefully make enough money with it to cover the bandwidth cost of that new site, as well as Vicki's and my free sites.

We calculated that if we sold one hundred memberships, we could cover bandwidth costs. Our wildest hope however was that we would sell three hundred memberships as that would generate sufficient revenue to cover the cost of paying a photographer to create a custom photoset just for us once a week. Vicki and I had a few contacts with various photographers and they all contributed some material for the initial launch of the site. I went to work building the first incarnation of the site, and thus was born the 'Necrobabes' member site. Our hopes were greatly exceeded when we not only got three hundred members the first month, but another three hundred the next, with still more to come.

Alexxia

Fairly soon thereafter Blackplague got censored by their server hosts and all the Blackplague hosted sites disappeared, including for a couple of days, Necrobabes. By that point however we had a cash flow and were in a position to rapidly acquire a dedicated host. We decided that given that the original raison d'etre of Necrobabes was to cover the hosting of our free sites, it was in keeping with that spirit to offer free hosting to most of the other free sites that had been hosted on Blackplague, and thus was born 'Necrobabes.org' which to this day continues to host free sites.

I'll digress just a bit to toot my own horn, but I think I largely invented the concept of the photo story for the web. Of course photo comics existed prior to that, so it wasn't much of a creative leap, but photostories are virtually unique to our community, one does not find then anywhere else on the web to my knowledge, but in our community they are everywhere. Necrobabes started out with the intention of always having story texts to go with the photos to create more context and increase the artistry of the endeavor, and for many years we stuck to that paradigm (thank you Max5s).

Carrie and Anna
Image

We discovered we had a tiger by the tail however as the site grew, spun off several sister sites and the work involved grew to being a full time job. Quite by accident I found myself with a full time occupation at first just handling photo processing, story text writing, html, etc.. But within the first year, I also started creating photo sets for the sites.

The technology of the Web improved and video came more and more to predominate over photo sets. Necrobabes was a little slow to respond to this beyond opening up the Necrobabes PPV site to sell individual videos. For several years Necrobabes continued to host only photosets on the member sites, while people were gradually coming more to expect video from member sites. It was myself who ultimately took the initiative to start to post videos instead of photosets on the Necrobabes sites, by the simple expedient of creating them myself. I had to learn to produce them quickly and cheaply as the budget I had for any given video would be considered very small by all the independent producers, and I was being called upon to produce fifteen videos a week!

Mila
Image

By the time Necrobabes fell apart (which is a whole other story), I had produced nearly one thousand videos. This turned out to be my savior as continued sales of those videos have allowed me to stay professionally involved in producing, albeit at a much greatly reduced pace. In addition to selling access to my repertoire of videos on The Progressive Art Project and Nicheclips, I also have my own member site which features a rotating archive of my older work as well as my newest, Catharsis Erotica.

That's my story. I do still very occasionally write stories (a couple times a year maybe) but mostly my sharing beyond the for pay videos, is that of posting selections of photos I've taken over the years. I have for instance a gallery thread of several hundred such photos on several message boards. I also fairly regularly create reduced resolution, often shortened, versions of some of my videos to share with people for free. Check out for example this Gladiatrix Fight Scene demo we did. Also Catharsis Erotica has no less than five, completely free, full resolution videos that are given away to show people what our videos are like. The only difference between those free videos and the ones I sell is that the for sale videos invariably contain explicit nudity, while the free videos have the ladies wearing lingerie.

Hello Peter,

Good to see you here. You may not know me, but I've been an admirer of your work for years, starting way back when with ongoing subscriptions to your Necrobabes sub-site. It's nice to finally be able to praise your excellent photography. I'm happy to see you contributing here.

Hi Peter,

Are these the very same girls who struggle with both French and English???

What in the world do they speak? (It may be that I also speak it. One never knows!!)

Of course it doesn't look like they speak much of anything anymore :wink:

As for my contributions: Well...

I like to think that I make things a bit interesting around here

I would have to say that my contributions would be as follows:

1) A customer of the fine producers who post here
2) A purchaser of custom videos
3) A pain in the ass who will pitch in his $.02 when something gets his blood up
4) A weirdo whi likes to refer to himself in the third person every so often

Most of my current ladies are quite fluently bilingual in both English and French. Often in the past I had ladies who were virtually unilingual francophone. A lot of my ladies have a nice accent however when they speak English.

Bellybutt Sonata

Splish splash, he was takin' a bath
When he got a sudden urge to kill
There were two on the right and two on the left
He knew that they would fit the bill

First a cut to the left, then a slash to right
The blood was ready to spill
When Hecate cried "oooh" and Zoe cried "Ahhh"
And Peter felt his first thrill

Then Carrie yelled, "No!"
While Gabby screamed, "Why!"
And Peter cocked his head and said,
"We all gotta die!"

Then stuck in the knife
(He just couldn't wait)
Between her belly button
And the Devil's Gate

He gave it a twist
Then he blew her a kiss
And said, "C'mon, baby."
"I knew you'd like it like this!"

And like it she did
And so did her friends
So they came back to life
And made him do it again!
