I found a method that works in Firefox, Edge and Chrome.
First, get a recording app. I like Fonelab (https://www.fonelab.com/screen-recorder/) but EaseUS RecExperts (https://recorder.easeus.com/) also works.
Now, go to settings (under the dropdown at upper right). Search for "accel" -- you should see a toggle for hardware acceleration; turn it off and restart your browser.
When you open Netflix (or whatever), start the video, and open the recorder app, you should be able to record and get screenshots.
Attachments are from Fear Street 2 on Netflix, using Fonelab on Chrome
