Question about a Member Request from My Site

Some time ago, I received a member request for multiple hangings and stranglings from a direct-to-video double-feature called Death From Behind I and II. I found a copy to rent through NetFlix, and it arrived this week. I just popped it into my DVD drive, only to discover that Debbie D is listed on the opening credits as a special guest star.
I've never known Debbie to do low-budget fare that was accessible through mainstream sources. Will I be able to post clips from this on my site without violating my own rule about not posting material from fetish producers?

No answer to your question, Nyghtfall...here's a list though.

Thanks, but IMDB isn't really a reliable source of help determining if something's mainstream or not. The few titles that I recognize on her resume are fetish productions, none of which I'd ever put on my site without consent from the producers.
I'm just going to remove the title from my site's Request Log and send the movie back to NetFlix. It's way too low-budget for me not to believe that it may have started as a fetish video that somehow found its way into the mainstream.

I know it's probably not what you would prefer to hear, but I would recommend against posting it. It is entirely possible that Debbie D got that work with a low budget independent production precisely because she is known in our community and because the producers hoped it would help sell their film in our community. I'm not saying that 'is' the case, just that it well could be. If Debbie D's scenes from that production were to be made freely available, any such rationale on the part of whomever hired Debbie D would be nullified, in effect reducing Debbie D's chances of getting additional, similar work.
It may well be the case that the vast majority of the producer's revenue comes from other sources and that posting clips would not significantly adversely affect the revenue they gain from the production. (Pretty much the reasoning behind 'not' posting fetish producer's material.) However it could adversely affect Debbie D's future earning potential with that or other similar producers, if it were known that her scenes were posted.
Perhaps post a few video capture 'stills' from the movie along with a review of the movie and a link to where it could be purchased. If a few people buy the movie due to that link, and the producer noticed, it might even spell more work for Debbie D.

Hi Nyghtfall,
When we worked with Debbie we discovered that she had in fact done a lot of mainstream horror, and film work outside of the horror genre. There could be other horror work out there of hers, particularly stranglings.
My opera career by contrast is defined by an entirely different stage name, so my work as "Dalila di Capri" has been exclusively for this community.
I am pretty sure that she received a flat fee for her work and that you are not hurting her personally by having that clip posted, but if you have a policy that you won't post work of actresses known in our community in such a way that they cannot receive compensation I am sure that Debbie would appreciate your efforts.
Thanks for being so considerate.
Baci

First, a slight correction in the title of the movie. I just noticed I mis-spelled it in my original post. It's Death From Be
yond, not Be
hind.

I once thought about opening a new section of my site that would do just that. I was going to write reviews of fetish videos, but then I realized I'd have to buy clips that I have no interest in watching - or reviewing for that matter - so I dismissed the idea.

Just trying to help protect everyone's bottom line.
Thank you all for your input. I've already sealed the movie in its return envelope, and will be sending it back to NetFlix on Monday.

I've actually been using NetFlix for a couple of years now. I rent from them, and Blockbuster Video, so that I don't have to buy full copies of movies and TV shows. If I can't find what I'm looking to rent through either of those two sources, I turn to Amazon.com's Market Sellers and look for a cheap copy to buy there. I also have a digital cable subscription through TimeWarner, with access to their Premium movie channels, that I snag a lot of scenes from.
In fact, thanks to the convenience of renting and cable TV, I only own a handful of titles of the source material that the clips I've edited over the last 10 years came from.
