Posting of Photos!! Please read!

All members are encouraged to share photos on FF. There is lots of space on our server in order to handle a plethora of photos. Any X-rated, i.e. nude or particularly graphic photos, should be posted on the non-public "Video and Image Share Forum". In that way, we don't have to worry about underage surfers viewing this adult material. Finally, try to keep the width of photos to a maximum of 8". The reason is that larger photos expand the entire thread's width so that everyone has to scroll back and forth, left and right, in order to read posts on that thread... and this can be very irritating and time-consuming.
Thanks for everyone's cooperation!

Blue...I think I am guilty of posting photos that are too large. Indeed, it is MOST annoying when the resulting extra work is created, and my sincere apologies for where I've done that. I am not trying to post an extra-large photo, but I merely copy in the photo in its same size as it exists in my Files, as I like 'large', you see.
There must be a way to decrease the size before posting, and I'll figure that out and not repeat my mistakes.
Sorry again for where I've done that and thanks for the notice here.

Thanks, Sandi. If you can't figure it out, I'd rather you post the photos than not, but, if anyone can reduce the size, it would be appreciated. In my photopaint software, the function is called 'resample' and you just change the width and make sure 'maintain aspect ratio' is checked.

there are several sites on which you can resize your pics. you save them in that size, so you can either have two of the same pic, or delete the larger one
one of the sites is

If you upload your files to the hosting site pict.com, it will give you a variety of sizes you can share your pics at. Then you just pick the link of the width you prefer. I think imgur does the same thing, but can't remember.

This is a common problem on many forums and phpBB is a widespread forum software. As a result, there are solutions to deal with large images by just hacking a few lines of the forum scripts.
http://www.unframe.com/en/info/air-box-for-phpbb.html for instance.
Although all these solutions rely on people using modern browsers (and most of them need javascript to work), I still think it's better to do it this way than having a rule about maximum image sizes. Not only to encourage members to post high resolution, high quality pictures, but also because ... the more rules, the more work for the mods. JohnM for instance doesn't need to worry about the size of the images the members of his forum are posting, the forum script is doing that for him (to be more precise: the actual work is done by the browser, the forum script just sends a little javascript which tells the browser what to do with large images).

The Microsoft Office Picture Manager has a very simple way to reduce (or enlarge) almost all image formats to whatever size you need. (Be sure to make a copy of the photo before you do, so the original remains unaltered.)
Regardless of what software you use to reduce a photo's size, there's no need to get out a ruler to measure it on your monitor. Just remember the photo shouldn't be wider than 776 pixels. (See attached sample.)
I very much agree with Blue. If you have some great oversized shots but no way to reduce them, post them as is. I don't think anybody will mind very much. Time and obligations permitting, I'll try to get a bunch of my faves posted this weekend.

Her Name is Asako. She worked for In Shadow about ten years ago.
If you have the patience to hunt through the Image Share Forum, you
might find a few more of her photos, though I'm not absolutely sure I
posted more. However the good news is all of her videos are still
available here:

Thanks to Blue's gift of a robust new dedicated server for FF, there no longer is a restriction on the file sizes of posted images. However please be sensible about using this new freedom. The new server's uploader is very fast, but many members' internet connections aren't. Avoid posting image files larger than 1MB.
Also, images should have a maximum width of 778 pixels (approximately 8 inches). The exceptions being images intended as full-screen desktop wallpapers, and those intended as the working images for maximum-resolution photo-manipulations. If you want to contribute many images larger than 1MB, or wider than the FF standard width of 778 pixels, upload them to a file sharing site like MediaFire which members can easily access.
All other image posting regulations remain in effect.
