I have read and heard that Mariska Hargitay may be leaving SVU in a violent fashion. I assume that someone will post it here if that happens, but here's how I would like to see it happen:

Lynda Carter and Estella Warren return to guest star. Both characters angry over having Estella's baby taken away and the jail sentence they had to serve. They try to ambush Elliott and Liv, but it doesn't work and the cops find Lynda's big boobs to easy a target.

After they have confirmation that Estella has left the city Liv returns to her apartment to find Estella waiting on her with gun drawn. Liv reaches for her gun, but in standard police procedure Estella fires three into Liv's belly. Estella takes Liv's gun and empties both into Liv's chest just as Elliott arrives. Upon seeing his partner dead, he empties his gun into Estella in a straight line up from her waist to her heart.


Of course the writers aren't that brutal so it will never happen, but I can still dream.

Which episode is supposed to be her last? Where did you hear that her departure could be violent?

I saw it on one of the many L&O message boards I visit. The season finale is suppose to be her last episode.

At least part of the rumor confirmed. Mariska only has 13 more episodes before she's replaced by Jennifer Love Hewitt. Now whether they transfer Olivia, let her go out in a gunfight, (or my personal favorite,) stick a knife up her gut, or let her go out in a big bang. That has not been confirmed. Momma Mariska wants more time with her kids so she's giving up the highest paid female salary on TV.

When is the season finale?

Well for this season, I think it ends this Wednesday. I also read about the possibility of her being replaced by Jennifer Love Hewitt last night on TVseriesfinale.com, still ticked off that the Defenders and $#*! My Dad Says are gone, but what can you do? Now don't get me wrong, I'm more than thrilled with the idea of her being on a weekly television show again as I still miss Ghost Whisperer deeply but I'm not terribly sure that she could pull off the role for an L&O series. Then again, it's all in the acting I suppose. She was excellent in most of her movies and then in Ghost Whisperer, well at least that's in my opinion. As for Mariska's demise, well it is possible that they could kill her off but I have a feeling that they won't. That might hinder the fan base of the show, it's like if they killed Gibbs off NCIS. But then again in the world of television we never really know what will ever happen to our favorite characters.

I'd still keep an eye out on the net and television though, the information on Wikipedia is sourced by the public so anything could be very inaccurate. Not to mention that this is only a rumor at the moment so things can change with time.

last i have heard about this is that she is going to get a promotion and jennifer is going to become the new partner. it is in the new t.v guide for cablevision.

I agree with speak376. Mariska Hargitay is getting the same money but she wants time off. So the promotion is too keep her in the cast for a while yet. But as a superior officer.

Right and this doesn't mean that she's off the show for good, it's more than possible that she'll be back on it either in a cameo or full time part at some point in the future. She might even show up on another L&O. It's like I said before, you never know what's going to happen to a character on television. So for now one chapter ends and another begins.

Is there a reason why this thread is in the"Video and Image Share Forum?" I keep looking for some pretty pictures but there aren't any, The least one of you L&O fans could do is post some frame grabs from the episode where Ms. Hargitay faked her death and appeared to get shot about a million times...

im sure i have seen Mariska getting shot with a machinegun in a video (which I assumed was an excerpt of this show)

I was kind of wondering about that as well, I think this would be more fitting for the off-topic forum than image share. Then again I'm not in charge of that so what do I know? Either way I'm just happy with the possibility of seeing Jennifer Love Hewitt weekly again!
