What was your first exposure to this community?

We've shared before about the mainstream death scene that first aroused you, but what was the first death fetish website that introduced you to this community, and is it still in existence?
For me, although I followed a link that took me to some death videos starring an early necrobabe (Vicki - still up at: http://www.necrobabes.org/vicki/home.htm), I then found a link to G-Man's free Fatal Females site, and the rest is history. Femme Fatalities is a tribute to that early community site.
What about you? What was the first site in our community that you remember visiting, and is it still up and running?

It was WAVE and I remember it very well. One night was surfing around and found some wet T-shirt pictures and WAVE was listed as another site that featured those pictures and BOY was I surprised and very pleased to find what else was featured on WAVE. And that night I found out my fetish was not mine alone.

Me too. I still have a bunch of WAVE VHS tapes I plan to digitize someday, along with umpteen other projects. Sadly, all my Tina Kraus tapes were in a box that drowned when my old water heater let go. (sob)

Probably Sam's Place, because it didn't involve joining anything, but somehow my most vivid recollection of a breakthrough is signing up for the old Amazons site, which amazed me because it wasn't just art or manips, but a bunch of attractive women who were actually acting this stuff out for my amusement.

Definitely Darksites

and from that site I discovered the rest.

I remember that moment, I was quite scared opening and clicking some links.
Fantastic portal.

I was very naive when I started surfing the net on early retirement. My first contact was completely by chance and was a Yahoo Group called "Smartly Dressed for Death Fights" and then "Secret Agents Do or Die". I think SDFDF survived three deletions before disappearing. After four deletions (?) SADoD went text only and still survives.

Years ago before I owned a computer, I was looking through an issue of Draculina magazine and saw an article on the first AmFight videos, and I couldn't believe it! Until then, I had no idea this community existed. Amazon Eve (real name Gabriela) was the woman who broke my cherry, for I was able to order the DVD's by mail. PC ownership was inevitable after that. One search and link led to another, and now I have quite a collection of stuff.
Gabriela used to be quite active online, but appears to have left the community some time ago. She's missed.

The first web site I found was while searching for info on horror movies and typed in the word Splatter. One of the pages I got was called Dimitri's Splatter Page. WOW, what a revelation. He had some early manips there and lots of pictures of videos made by James Ahearne, which I ordered on VHS tapes (boy were they bad-- but exciting!) That was in 1997 or 1998. That web site disappeared a year or so after I found it. Then it was the trail through Vicki's Necrobabes, Sam's Place, etc.. Cuddly Necrobabes, and G Man's sites.

It was definitely one of the Necrobabes sites... I was poking around some sexy goth girl pages and Necrobabes was indirectly linked to them. I still remember a lot of the girls who appeared in those picture sets and videos pretty fondly - they were the closest I came to "celebrity crushes" back in my high school days. I discovered Annabelle's Fantasy shortly after that, and it was one of Petra's early videos that actually got me to throw some cash down for the first time. Around the same time I found some Yahoo pages and the yahoo snuff chat rooms, all of which are long gone now so far as I know.
I'd always found horror films and peril pretty erotic, but it was probably finding the community that "set" the fetish for me as one I would seek out on an ongoing basis.

Glad to see WAVE was the first contact with this community for some of you. We've been doing this since 1987 and are producing more features than ever. Our entire library, minus a couple tiles, has been transferred to DVD. And now we're in the process of making our titles available for download. With over 200 feature length movies, that will take a while.
If you have any suggestions as to which titles you'd like to see made available for download, let me know.
As for Fatal Females, I met G-Man in 1998 at a Chiller Convention and we have been friends ever since.

I did not see the post before you removed the spam link. I just sent you a p.m. about this incident. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Oh.. I did forget to mention WAVE in my story of the early days in this community. I was able to purchase several tapes, way back when, but have not been able to for years since they are afraid of sending them to Canada. I had no problem getting the tapes I did buy.
