I'd just like to say hi to all the members and the the Moderators. after 8 tours of duty in the middle east, and almost 1 year at Bethesda Naval Hospital, 6-12 more months of rehab. so after getting my Promotion to First Sergeant, I'll be Retiring when I can walk again. if anyone has good advice on how to get the most out of this website, feel free to reply.

My younger daughter is just back from a tour in Helmand province. I'm glad you feel able to come here to this site as another who knows the difference between fantasy and reality (I was a Brit diplomat and my first posting in Africa saw me in the middle of a nasty local conflict - burned our villages etc.,).
After your military career and with your injuries civilian life will require difficult adjustments, and I hope you find things and people to enjoy here which will help you win those battlles.
