Post Re: UKSG Videos
Hi everyone, well I'm off and I did try very hard to prove to the partners that it was worth it to put UKSG videos out in the public domain but alas they proved me wrong. There is no money there to make it worth their while so this is good bye. I will not be posting any more on this site and I would like to wish everyone a happy new year and inner peace. It was fun take care all.

This is too bad considering the quality of the recent film they just produced for Bluestone.
I have been in and out of business a few times:
When I first retired in 2006 it was because of health reasons.
When I retired in 2008 it was because I really thought I was filmed out, and I was concerned about merchant services insofar as PPV.
Now that I am strictly PPV however I plan to stay in until you fans come after me with a big sheepherder's cane, or Paul puts a hit on me. Whichever comes first.

I am sorry to see USKG go.

Re: Gone!
If anyone here wants to see UKSG videos again, you will have to show your support by purchasing "The Visitor". If the sales of this video had allowed me to at least break even, it could have convinced the UKSG partners to re-enter the public domain. Sales are well below break even. If sales do reach the break even point, I would consider ordering another such custom. Then, fans will be treated to more UKSG material. If not, I will not pursue the matter further. This was an experiment to see if asphixia fans would support upscale professional videos, or whether all they desire is the current production levels at shopping malls such as Nicheclips.

Re: Gone!
It might help if you put together a one-sheet featuring a collage of promotional stills from the video and link it to the ad copy at your store. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not in the habit of dropping $25 on a video on the strength of just one cover shot of a woman holding a gun and no mention of the running time.Bluestone wrote:Sales are well below break even.

Re: Gone!
Hi Nyghtfill.
I wrote a very enthusiastic review of this film, even though I admit that strangling is not a special fetish of mine.
Susy wrote a very enthusiastic review as well.
Both should be posted someplace here.
I am not sure what your standards are for what you are willing to pay but this film is one of the highest quality erotic horror films I have ever seen.

Re: Gone!
Reviews are all well and good, but I was suggesting a more effective way to market the video for the average fetishist who prefers to window shop and doesn't visit message boards or interact with the community.
I also noticed that the product reviews section for the video is empty. You and Susy might both want to consider copying your reviews over there, too.

That is a good idea. I will try to do that, but I thought it was already up...
I guess not.
Anyway the thought of any producer that good going out of business is bad IMO.

Re: Gone!
Bah... they've been shooting custom work in secret for "high-paying social elites" for 30 years now. This is the third time in the last 10 years that they've flirted with our community about their work - once through my site, again through a relatively brief distribution agreement they had with thestr.com (for whom I used to serve as Webmaster), and now with this custom deal they brokered through Bluestone along with all of the teaser clips they've been posting here.Dalila di Capri wrote:Anyway the thought of any producer that good going out of business is bad IMO.
Trust me, they don't need our support to stay in business. Frankly, I'm beginning to wonder why they keep bothering us. I'm getting tired of producers who seem to enjoy creating an air of mystery about themselves in an effort to generate hype about their material. I'm sorry The Visitor isn't doing well, but I don't believe for one second that it's supposed to be some kind of gauge for helping UKSG decide whether or not to go public. If what I understand about their clientele is at all true, they don't need the sales from just one video to tell them whether or not to open shop for us.

I still stand by what I said about "The Visitor" being an excellent film.
The thing about which I am usually the most picky is acting.
You can show me a beautiful actress being stabbed a bunch of times and if she can't act the scene I am not impressed. By the same token someone like Tina Krause from Wave back in the 1990s coud make you feel the blade or arrow go into her even when there was no special effect.
In the case of "The Visitor" Mink's commitment to the stranglings (there are two in an altered reality script written by Blue) in nothing short of beautiful. Domino is wonderful as her senior colleague.
I don't want to get into the politics of it or speculate on what UKSG is doing, but it is an excellent film for its own sake.

Re: Gone!
My thoughts...
I am sure for UKSG, is comes down to artistic integrity vs. serving many masters.
On the one hand, they have a style and content that has worked well for a long, long time.
On the other hand, to market effectively to this community and get a certain number of sales, they would have to expand what they do, i.e. more nudity perhaps is one thing. In addition, while focus on plot and acting is important, in the fetish community, it is only important to the extent that the fetish element---the attack, kill, and aftermath are the primary focus. The plot leads to that and the acting should be the best during those moments because I can assure you, maybe after one watch through, subsequent watching of the movie will start at the fetish scenes.
This probably flies in the face of what they want to do, having years of established style and content. And, it sounds like they don't need to accommodate the greater community needs.
So, we are left with this: Very good productions that are stylized and focused to the effect of only attracting a small amount of interested customers that would pay money. Unfortunately, they have attracted plenty of great comments and promises of support when giving away free movies.
While good previews are important tool producers have and should be used in our fetish community, in this case, I doubt it would have increased the sales at all.
There is a fetish to Hollywood rule that basically goes like this. As the product moves away from fetish and more into the realm of Hollywood the amount spend for said movie decreases. As this plays out, it gets to the point where the customer is downloading Hollywood clips for free.
To balance between good quality and covering fetish aspects for a large enough audience is a complicated dance and one that I have only been playing for only half the time that UKSG has been in existence. I am sure they are aware of exactly what they could do to impact sales that does not involve changing their style that much and with little sacrifice of artistic integrity. But, for whatever reason, they are choosing not to.
I wish them well, and hope they, one day, give it a go again because I LOVE hot UK women!!!

Bad idea! I DO NOT want reviews at the store site! The store is where you buy my videos, not where all of the details about them are posted. Everything customers have to know about my videos are posted at http://www.silkvideos.com. That is the way I market my material, as you know, and it works quite well for me and you.
