Is there any chance for her to survive after such headshot?

Post by cocoro aguilar »

I just want to ask out of curiosity is there any real chance for this woman to be still alive after such headshot or she has died immediately after the headshot?

She dies immediately after the headshot and drops to the floor where you see her here...

If you are talking about real life, then there's always a chance. People have survived headshot wounds.

But in this case it's unlikely. The bullet strikes straight on, in the middle, which means it's on a path towards the back of the head. Since there's exit splatter on the wall, we can assume the bullet has gone though.

Any brain damage is serious, but the front and top of the brain are the most survivable areas, as they are concerned with higher thought functions. But the lower and rearward parts of the brain handle more critical-to-life tasks such as keeping the heart and lungs going. If the brain stem area is damaged, the odds of survival are very very low.

A bullet that passes straight through intact is likely to do the least damage. A bullet that fragments tends to expand damage in a cone-like region from the point of first impact. The latter is obviously more lethal.

And then there's shock, which can kill a person even apart from the consequences of the physical damage.

So while it would not be impossible for a real person to survive such a wound, it would be very unlikely, and I would say it would require immediate medical attention. Not to mention the quality of life even if one survived would likely be pretty bad.

What is your main fetish?: It's a combination of secret agents, superheroines, celebs, and pregnant women being killed. Although i don't necessarily have to talk about the last one on the boards if it's too sensitive of an issue.

DQue is probably right...but the human body and mind are...very inconsistent things when it comes to taking damage. Remember, one of the boys from the Judas Priest Suicide case LIVED! The condition he was in makes you wish he hadn't, be he did! Blew his face apart with a shotgun and still survived.

One of the most famous tv shockumentary clips from the 90's was this black kid that got shot in the head. They removed half his skull, and half his brain with it, and aside from IIRC a slight speech impediment and a lazy eye he was almost none the worse for ware. Especially once they replaced the giant dent in his head with a metal plate.

I've seen pictures and read a story of man who had his face mauled by a bear. Down to straight wet bloody skull with skin ribbons hanging from it. Walked his ass out of the woods and to his house! His wife rushed him to the hospital just in time. All things considered, they even put him back together pretty well. You can hardly notice the scarring.

...But you or I could break our necks and die tonight just from taking a 3 foot fall off the bed wrong

it's a fair question, which strangely enough people have looked at from a biological and physics-related perspective.
Here is an interesting video on the subject which breaks down the effects of a bullet entering the head/brain, and what the chances are of survival...
