This year there are Thyarmis, Sashura, Kataya, Arya, Shemina and Azura in the arena.

Olaf, how do you decide which Amazon dies first? Do you draw lots?

A very minor quibble. (I know this is totally irrelevant, but, with age, I have come to accept that I am the kind of person who needs to point this out.) The format used in these tournament videos is really unfair. :) The next match is determined by the winner of the previous match being challenged by a new fighter. But this means that in order to win, the first fighter would have to beat every other fighter, whereas the last challenger would only have to beat 1 fighter. Not to mention the fact that the first fighter would get tired.

A fair system would require that every fighter would have to beat the same number of opponents to be the final winner. A usual knockout system, like in, say the football world championship, works like that.

Olaf I think the accessories should also get a good update just like the website :). The swords, for example, are too wide/thick in my opinion. Can you arrange some more new thinner realistic swords?

In this case I just didn´t have a script.
Kataya wanted to fight against Sashura, and so they did it.
The decision who would win was made during the fight.

well, that´s indeed something I will think about.
So far the concept is just to show a lot of fighting, but I didn´t put much value on fairness.
Adding this point could improve the tension, so I say thanks for the hint!

The swords that we currently use are made of soft foam with a core of fibre glass.
In fact they are toys, and that´s the reason that the girls can act out a furious fight without the risk of serious injury.
Using better looking metal swords would require them to be very careful,
and that would decrease the realism of the fights.
So as I´m responsible for the security of my girls I guess the toy swords are a necessary compromise.
However, if someone knows a source for good looking swords please don´t hesitate to send me a link!

Olaf I definitely agree with you. Safety is nr1 priority. Now that I understand that they are made of foam, it doesn't put a lot of load on the wrists either. Hope you can find something similar but a bit thinner and better looking!

Regarding the comments about thinner swords, will have a look around the "toy departments"! Meanwhile, this is how I see them (no prize for guessing who my favourite is )
