Bond Fans Unite!

Any James Bond fans here? I hear that there are rumours of a new James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig. What's the skuttlebut? Have they chosen the Bond Girl(s) yet? Ian Fleming just had to be a closet death fetisher. How many gorgeous women have died in the James Bond flicks to date. Must be in the double digits by now!

I think he makes as good a James Bond as many. What sucks for me was the 'reinvention' of the formula. The last James Bond movie was by 'far' my least favorite of them all, including the absolute crap that Roger Moore was mostly in (except for 'Live and Let Die, which was one of my favorites).

My take is that they should get the new Bond girl from this site and others and let one of the great producers direct the experienced talent .They would really cast a true professional who would shine and have a breakout role. I can think of one Check who would really light up the screen ..Against all odds but wow. I like Craig he seems physical but the recent bond girls just not deserving of the hype.

I think Craig is the best Bond since Sean Connery. He brings a return to the realism of the character, not the cardboard Bonds that have been on the screen in the intervening years, of which Moore was undoubtedly the worst.

It also brings a return to the atmosphere of the original novels of Ian Fleming, who wrote them in a brutal way. Most of the Bond films have borne little relationship to the creation of the original author.

I agree that Craig could be a good Bond, if they had not re-booted the franchise so thoroughly. Craig + bringing back the gadgets would be good again. As it is now, it is hard to tell Bond movies for 'Bourne xxx' etc. I'm probably in the minority here, but think that Brosnan was one of the better Bonds, next to Connery, but, the plots/screenwriting that Brosnon endured were a little cheesey.

I like Daniel Craig in the ones he has done, but I have to agree that Brosnan was the best Bond since Connery up to that point. It's hard to compare Craig to the others, because, like Smudge said, he is more like the Bond from the novels, not the Bond from the original movie franchise.
