Given the recent release of Supernova vs Doomsayer, I was honestly perplexed by the overwhelming cacophony of praise for Melody Sky and the comparatively minuscule amount of discussion about Melanie. I suppose everyone has their own preferences :?
Director B wrote:Well, fans of Melanie we did warn you guys we might have to let her go, the stalking and pirating of her films was the nail in the coffin, only in this genre could being this popular get you laid off your job. We at Bluestone wish her well. But Supernova will return casting is ongoing :-)
While I don't care for your decision to let her go, I understand why you did it from a safety and business perspective. As one of the biggest Melanie fans on this forum, I can say that this truly sucks.

I wish her the best in whatever endeavors she chooses to pursue.

Badger, yes we let her go but she also wanted to go because of the people that found out her real name and began pestering her. The situation was bad all round.

I gathered that from earlier posts which is why I included safety as a point of concern. It still sucks even if the separation was mutual.

Badger, your warning was very late, besides It's not our first rodeo, it all started from the very first video, as you know or may not know, some people out there only join our board to file share or just cause trouble.

You can't let her go, Mr B. It just won't be the same without her. :shake:

Blame those pirates for devaluating her films and idiots who found out her real name then proceeded to stalk her
THat's just not cricket, Mr B. Hope that she is OK. I can fully understand her need for privacy and her own private life.

Don't forget, the Extreme Version is where the heroines die! In the Peril version they lose, they may be defeated and captured, but they always survive. In the Extreme version, they always die. Please make sure you get the right version.

It wasn't so much a warning as it was an acknowledgement of your reason for letting her go. Like I said before, I don't care for your decision, but I understand why you made it.

Such a shame. I am gutted. Melanie was by far the best, most talented and most glamorous actress you ever managed to get in your Superheroine Series, Blue and Mr B. It will be very hard to replace her.

Badger, please understand this, she wanted to go and we had to let her go because of what happened, so saying "I don't care for your decision" makes no sense, if it was up to us we would have kept her but it was her decision in the end, not ours, therefore, we had to let her go.

The way the situation was framed in an earlier post - "only in this genre could being this popular get you laid off your job" - made it seem like it was more of an employer decision even though I understand it to be mutually agreed upon departure. This whole exchange is just me expressing my disappointment with the entire situation.

Well, let's make it clear... it wasn't an employer decision. Maybe I shouldn't have said "laid off" but I think you know what I mean now. We couldn't change her mind so it is what it is. We'll find another Supernova just like we found Melanie to replace Danica so stay tuned.

Can I make a suggestion now that I've had a time to think it through?
It is clear that feelings are still running very high about this joint decision for Melanie to stand down as SuperNova. It is also clear that a variety of unfortunate reasons lead to her departure, most of which were especially pleasant.
It is also extremely clear of the high esteem most fans of the Superheroine series hold Melanie in. Therefore, why don't we start a separate thread on this Sub-Forum to pay tribute to Melanie? Where fans of hers can go and say something nice about her - nothing creepy or suggestive, just to complement or thank her for being SuperNova for us. Then, hopefully Blue and Mr B can forward the best ones on to her by way of saying thanks, and to show that in her time with us she did generate a good following of genuine appreciation and gratitude?

Hi everyone, how did this turn into this? xj900uk, you say fans of Melanie, that maybe so but the only one I can see that has voiced his disappointment on her departure is Badger, I understand his upset, but he's not as upset as Blue and myself, we knew the value of Melanie from the getgo. I am still amazed how there were no comments about her when Supernova Doomsayer, (her swan song), was released, same with when Danica left, both of them was so popular because their videos sold extremely well. Anyone other than Badger has anything to say about this situation?
