Member Geno's Suspension!

Dear Board Members,

As you will recall on July 12th, two weeks ago, Member Geno was suspended for an initial 7 days for uncivil behaviour on this board, with the suspension to be reviewed within the 7 days. This 7 day suspension was converted to an indefinite suspension until the terms of re-instatement could be determined, taking into account and considering the positions of all parties concerned. It was finally determined by Femme Fatalities management that Member Geno would be provided with the opportunity to be re-instated on the following terms, and this offer has been communicated to Member Geno:

1. Member Geno must post a public apology to all persons insulted in the post that resulted in his suspension, and he must agree not to post any more insulting remarks against Paul of KHP, his models (especially Britton), or his mother, either on FF or on any other community board. This public apology can be posted on DeadSkirts or we will grant Member Geno temporary access to FF to post his apology, and only his apology, here;

2. Upon the posting of this public apology, Member Geno's indefinite suspension will be reduced to a further 30 days;

3. Upon Member Geno serving his suspension, he shall conduct himself in a civil manner on this board in the future.

This offer of reinstatement expires at midnight (EST) tonight. Should it not be accepted, Member Geno's suspension from FF shall become permanent.

Your comments are duly noted. Geno has assured me that, if he comes back to FF, he will be civil. Everyone's entitled to a second chance, but FF moderators have been given full powers to enforce civility on this board. We're all sick of flame wars on FF, and they will no longer be tolerated. Accordingly, I think we should give Member Geno the benefit of the doubt. This point is certainly up for discussion, however, just like everything else on this board. So, if anyone else wishes to express an opinion on this issue, please feel free to do so.

I can't really object to having a member who behaves himself/herself. If the apology is sincere, a second chance is warranted, especially since any continuing serious misbehavior will be dealt with swiftly. If you bend over backwards to be fair now, nobody will blame or criticize you if you suddenly cut him out for being offensive later.

I'll side with Max, but -majority rules in this matter, ( keep commenting!) almost everyone deserves one FINAL chance, we can always pull the plug if he ever gets out of line.

As far as his request for "probation" Is there a way we can put his postings on moderated status? I have that in the big group I moderate but I don't have the power to set something like that up. That way one of us looks at and ok's everything he says before the group.

Okay, I guess we should get back to the topic at hand. In this regard, I have added a poll to this topic. Several members may have an opinion on this subject, but may not want to post that opinion. So, since we are still living in a democracy, everyone gets a vote on this issue. FF management will take the results of this vote into account in determining whether the imposed 30-day suspension should be shortened. Please exercise your franchise, folks!

I agree with everything Elsullo has said here. Have voted for the 30 day option, but would have gone for a permanent choice. The guy is unhinged and trouble in my humble opinion, and is never satisfied unless things are going his way, and some of his hate bile is quite unsettling. My thought is that this apology has only become because of this suspension and the legal threat received. Let him back on and it will just be a matter of time until the next 'episode'. Personally, I think the genre would be better off withiut him full stop. A big reason I read FF is because Geno isn't around here, why does he take up so much time on people's boards? As Elsullo says, why give him yet another chance, can't this board just move on and ignore the guy?

I am in agreement with those who enforce the 30-day suspension, and feel that an indefinite suspension would be warranted as well based on past behavior. I realize that this is a small community and any divisiveness could be detrimental, but there need to be limits.

Geno has at times said some very kind things about my acting, and yet other times questioned my sanity. I simply pick and choose which comments he makes to address and leave it at that.

Paul it is very mature of you to forgive him for the comments he made about your mother.

Let's all be mature about this and keep things positive.

As long as a critic such as Geno, or a fellow producer is not trying to bash anothor producer unfairly we need to allow free speech here.

(Dennis my love if you are reading this you know that I always speak my mind!! )

I think it is better to allow people to speak with the expectation that we won't always agree with them than to silence them.

Perhaps we should all examine ourselves before we throw the first stone at someone that has openly expressed humility with an apology.

Do I think Geno is perfect....NO....of course not. I have some suspicions concerning what might be some deeper underlying reason for his odd way of communicating, and that's why I prefer to give him a break.

Has Geno hurt me or others? Of course. But everyone knows by now that it's just Geno, so I don't worry too much about it. And we should not think that Geno has no feelings or that he has never been hurt by various posters.

It takes such a small amount of empathy and effort to live in peace. If people, including myself and Geno, would engage their brains before putting their egos in gear and their fingers to the keyboard, I think we would all be better off.

So I think he should be re-instated and Geno should also do some re-instating in return. Then everyone should try to be more considerate and respectful to each other.

So that FF management can consider all of these comments and the poll results without letting too much time elapse, but with providing a fair opportunity for all who wish to comment and/or vote, FF management will be considering this matter based upon the comments posted and the votes cast by midnight (EST) on Friday, July 31st, 2009, and a decision will be made and posted on this thread on August 1st or 2nd, 2009. (Yes, that's 2009, not 2012. So, it's not the end of the world )

I think we should allow Geno back on the board, but strictly on a probationary basis.He must be carefully watched because we cannot afford to say, " that is simply Geno". He has to prove that he can express his ideas, whether positive or negative in as civil way.
