Alright....It is more than time enough to move on from the legal "he said they said"...
Here is an entirely new subject.
I (who would be very foolish to try to be anonymous) have wanted for years to put together a convention of erotic horror producers, fans, actresses and so forth.
I live in Las Vegas, the convention capital of the world. It would be a great place for us to do this.
I am interested in hearing about your thoughts. What do you think? Would such a thing be possible??? Is there interest on your parts?
I understand that Annabelles did this a few years ago (I suspect before the pointy knife laws!!)
And I think that G Man goes to a place in the east coast, but I am talking aout our specific community...our actresses, our fans.
Considering that I have worked all these years to stay "off the radar", to avoid naysayers and religious zealots, to keep my billing options in tact and to stay out of the way of some wannabe politician looking for a cause---I think it would be a bad idea.
What is your main fetish?: My personal fetish is 'bellybutts', the idea of a woman who for her own pleasure, to sate her own lust and fetish, wants to be stabbed or shot in her belly, ideally during sex. She begs for it incessantly, encourages it to happen and then when the moment finally comes, enjoys it thoroughly and begs for more.
Why do you want to join this forum?: My interest in this community has less to do with my personal fetish than it does professionally from a community building standpoint.
Referral: I have no recollection. I've been around pretty much since it's inception.
I love conventions. I would really like to go to such a convention, I would majorly enjoy it. And it would be an extremely bad idea that I would strive mightily to avoid.
The slightest hint of such a convention could easily turn into a media circus, blown up for all to see on a national stage, with all the scandal and outrage the media can generate, as nothing sells like scandal. Of course crusading politicians hungry to look like they are 'doing something' will promptly hop on the bandwagon to end these evil people from perpetrating their horrendousness upon the rest of society. It could be the end of us all.
No, never bothered. I suspect is is because I only specifically target exactly the customer who is interested, opt out of spamming or search engines and keep a low profile. I am sure you are aware of the *big* history of this fetish. The visa/mc and 3rd party billing problems, the Bush campaign to shut down sites, paypal, the incidences of life imitating art, etc, not to mention the obscenity cases.
Often there is a level of comfort that falls on some producers and fetishist where they get so comfortable in there work or fetish, that it feels more and more mainstream to them. But, the reality is, this material, no matter how good the acting and how much blood and effects are used, when marketed to this community, is for a specific fetish purpose. It is that purpose that, by even the noblest efforts, is on the fringe of acceptance regardless of how tame or naughty the end product is. It is all based on context. The context of our material may be artistic and creative to us, but those on the outside are not going to see that in the same way as they look at a Cannes or Sundance submission.
In any case, the last thing I want to do is open my product up to the wrong sort of scrutiny. Some producers, I am sure, have lives separate from their work. Families, church, other jobs, etc. I doubt any of them would want even the chance of a public relations issue occurring, let alone more intense scrutiny of even worse, media curiosity. They say that all publicity is good publicity. I feel that is not the case for us, especially given the history. While I may not have had any issued (thank goodness), I am sure there are others that have---I know there are in fact. We certainly don't need to help someone pull a UK over here in the USA. I am confident that most of the members of this small niche community want to keep there little fetish to themselves and perhaps a small group of like-minded online friends.
This event might be a good test-bed for how an audiience would react to this particular fetish. Several of the actresses (Paris Kennedy, Jade Indica, Anastasia Pierce) who act in this genre appear there. It's about to happen this month in Tampa, FL and I believe this is an annual event. Looking at the exhibitor list I would guess that it's mostly bondage, Dom/Sub type material.
Great idea, but I have to agree with some of the other posters that I wouldn't be caught 'dead' at such a convention. I do have a RL that would totally clash with me being identified at such a convention. No, I'm not a politician
I would love an underground get together, if security was very, very tight... or just a quiet dinner with you, my love
Cheers!

An important question to answer here is: What is the goal of such an event? If you just want to have a gathering of like-minded folks someone could organize a social event. If you want to create a marketing vehicle for the industry that's a different scenario all together.
