What is your favorite strangulation-by-wire scene?
I especially love the classic De Palma's Blow Out and strongly desire to find out new and most recent scenes.

The strangle scene from Atomic Blonde is incredible, her being strangled while try to reach for her gun, great scene. Her gulping for air, perfect.

Simply one of the most exciting scene I've ever seen!

I always loved the scene from the '80s TV episode "Amazing Stories: The Amazing Falsworth" (which starred Gregory Hines as a stage magician/mind-reader who senses that one of his audience members is a serial killer); at the beginning of the episode, a beautiful blonde in a showgirl outfit is walking home through an alley when she gets garroted from behind with a wire. An outstanding scene for 1980s network TV!

I remember the scene but it was one of many clips I purged from my collection after closing Cinemasphyxia in 2017, and I don't remember the title.

That's definitely it.
"Rachel is grabbed from behind and dragged through a heavy steel door that slams shut. As her friends struggle to open it, they are unaware that the door has been rigged with a wire that slowly chokes naked, bound and gagged Rachel with every pull. This is a clever set-up and the scene drips with tension."


Too bad you purged it -- it was one of the best "mainstream" (more or less) hangings I've seen (at as I remember --it's been a LONG time since I've seen it).

After seeing Elsa Kikoïne play a diplomatic attaché wired and hanged in the 2012 flick Blind Man, Blood Relic paled by comparison and I lost interest in it.
