Think Fast Mr. Moto - 1937 - Peter Lorre

Mr. Moto (Peter Lorre) and his date Lela Liu (Lotus Long) enter a night club in Shanghai to investigate a gang of smugglers. Mr. LOL finds out to people he knows are being imprisoned the smugglers because they know too much and are in grave danger. Moto sends Lela to call the police for help. Unfortunately, one of the smugglers notices her leaving. While she’s in the phone calling the police, a hand with a silencer appears behind her and she is shot in the back. Her reaction is short, with no gab, but good enough to earn an A- , in my opinion.

The shooting happens in the film at 57:00 to 57:45.
