Here is are interesting lists of highly useful free programs (with their sources)
which have stood the test of time, some of which have already been linked in
other topics in this forum. The first list is for us ordinary Joes:

The only bone I have to pick with these lists is the omission of the outstanding
GOM Media Player for Windows, which I never tire of recommending. But
